Ann Boriack-Sjodin, PhD

Senior Vice President, Molecular Discovery

Ann Boriack-Sjodin joined Accent in October 2017 and serves as our Senior Vice President of Molecular Discovery and Operations, bringing more than 25 years of drug discovery experience to the role. She spent much of her industrial career using structural biology, biochemical, and biophysical methods to advance drug discovery programs in a variety of therapeutic areas. Prior to joining Accent, she served as Senior Director, Lead Discovery at Epizyme, contributing to the development of clinical candidates and tool compounds for protein methyltransferases and other epigenetic targets. Ann also worked at AstraZeneca, where she contributed to programs in infectious disease and oncology, and Biogen Idec, where she contributed to both small molecule and biologic drug discovery efforts. She has contributed to more than 60 scientific publications and > 20 patent applications. Ann received a BA in chemistry from Harvey Mudd College, obtained her PhD in biological chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania working with Dr. David Christianson and received postdoctoral training in the lab of Dr. John Kuriyan at The Rockefeller University. Ann has also been a member of the Penn Chemistry Scientific Advisory Committee at the University of Pennsylvania.
